Caught Sleeping on the Job!

Meet Amy and her horse Bronson (affectionately known as "Bronnie").  Amy is the Barn Manager at Cranewood Farm, and I love the picture of her hard at work :)  I was excited when Amy signed up for a photo session - Amy & I have become fast friends since I moved into the barn, and I was looking forward to getting some nice images of her.  Amy is very unassuming - easygoing, good-natured, and quick to laugh.  She has a deep love of all animals (she is currently nursing baby bats that fell from the rafters in the barn).  I love that Amy & I share a mutual outlook on horses when it comes to training and manners.

Bronson is her special boy; she has had him from a young age and they have been through a lot over the years together.  Even better is that Serlait LOVES Bronnie - I've never seen her get this way over a pasture buddy before.  She typically will tolerate most horses, as long as they do not invade her personal space "bubble" - but not only can Bronnie invade her space, he is allowed to groom her, and she even grooms him back!  They make great trail buddies - she hasn't tried to kick him at all (yet)!

I was excited at Amy's response when asked what kind of images she wanted: "lets turn him out in the field and see what he does".  Woot, woot!  I love doing relaxed, liberty sessions.  Apparently, Bronson does not.  He did his very best ostrich impression and attempted to keep hiding in the corner of the pasture from Auntie Mandy and the camera.





Amy did a great job of encouraging Bronson out of his favorite corner and getting him out and moving for the camera.She even humored me and got on bareback from some shots.
